What I Eat (“App”, “we”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your data.
1. What the App Does
The App allows you to take a photo of a product’s ingredients and receive an analysis showing Unwanted and Safe ingredients. You can make a limited number of free scans per month with an optional auto-renewing subscription.
2. No Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or share any personal data.
Specifically:
- We do not run a backend server.
- We do not store photos.
- We do not store OCR text.
- We do not create user accounts.
- We do not track usage, analytics, or device information.
The photo is processed on your device to extract ingredient text.
To generate the analysis, the App sends the extracted ingredient text to the OpenAI API using our API key.
We do not store or have access to the ingredient text that is sent to OpenAI.
3. Use of OpenAI API
Ingredient text is sent from your device directly to the OpenAI API.
- We use our own API key to provide the analysis.
- The key is not shared with you and is not stored on your device.
- We do not receive or store any data sent to OpenAI.
- OpenAI may process data according to its own Privacy Policy: https://openai.com/policies/privacy
4. Subscription Information
The App offers an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks unlimited scans after your 3 free scans.
All payments are handled by Apple through your App Store account.
We do not process or store any payment information.
5. Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate with any analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page.
